Add or Edit Attribute Page (Master Data Manager, System Administration)

Use the Add Attribute or Edit Attribute pages to add or edit leaf, consolidated, or collection attributes.

In Explorer, when you view entities, each attribute is displayed as a column in a grid.

Save attribute

Saves the attribute.

Cancel

Cancels changes.

Free-form Attributes

Control Name

Description

Name

Type a name for the attribute.

Display pixel width

Specify the width, in pixels, for the attribute's column in Explorer.

Data type

Specify the data type. Possible values are:

  • Text

  • Number

  • DateTime

  • Link

Length

For Text and Link data types, specify the number of characters.

Decimals

For the Number data type, specify the number of numbers that can be entered after a decimal point.

Input mask

For the Number data type, specify the format for negative numbers. Possible choices are to precede the number with a negative sign, or to enclose the number in parentheses.

For the DateTime data type, specify the format for the date.

Enable change tracking

Enable change tracking for the attribute.

Change tracking group

If you are tracking changes to groups of attributes, select the number of the attribute group. Otherwise, leave as 1.

Specify the allowable file extension.
