Suppressing the Default CD/DVD Burn Engine

Any CD/DVD recording application that registers a CD/DVD recording application with Windows Media Center can choose to suppress the default Windows Media Center CD/DVD burn engine by creating the following registry key:

Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center

Registry value name: SuppressBuiltInBurnApp

Registry value data type: DWORD

Registry value: 1

Note   This registry key does not hide the Burn CD/DVD tile on the Windows Media Center Start menu.
