How to Use the BSP for the HP Compaq t5530 Thin Client Development Platform (Windows Embedded CE 6.0)

You can use the sample board support package (BSP) provided by Windows Embedded CE 6.0 to quickly evaluate the new Windows Embedded CE OS features on the HP Compaq t5530 Thin Client Development Platform.

For more information about the sample BSPs included in Windows Embedded CE for x86 microprocessors, see x86 BSPs.

  • You included support for x86 microprocessors when you installed Platform Builder. If you did not, reinstall Platform Builder and include support for x86 microprocessors.
  • You are downloading a Windows Embedded CE run-time image to an HP Compaq t5530 Thin Client Development Platform.

The following table shows the steps needed to use the BSP for the HP Compaq t5530 Thin Client Development Platform.

1. Review the supported hardware and software features of the development platform and familiarize yourself with any limitations that might impact your run-time image.

2. Connect the device to the development workstation.

3. Configure a terminal program, such as Microsoft HyperTerminal, to receive debug messages.

4. Build the run-time image.

You must build the run-time image before you can download it to the device.
