Control.OnTextInput Method

Called before the TextInput event occurs.

Namespace:  System.Windows.Controls
Assembly:  System.Windows (in System.Windows.dll)
Syntax

Visual Basic (Declaration)
Protected Overridable Sub OnTextInput ( _
	e As TextCompositionEventArgs _
)
C#
protected virtual void OnTextInput(
	TextCompositionEventArgs e
)

Parameters

e
Type: System.Windows.Input.TextCompositionEventArgs
A TextCompositionEventArgs that contains the event data.
Remarks

The OnTextInput method is called before any event handler for the TextInput event is called. This method allows derived classes to handle the TextInput event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

This implementation does not change the handled state (the Handled property) of the TextInput event data.

Notes to Inheritors

When overriding OnTextInput in a derived class, be sure to call the base class’s OnTextInput method so that registered delegates receive the event.
