A SQL Server service is stopped on the data-tier server

The information in this article applies to:

  • Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server

  • SQL Server 2005 

  • Data-tier server

  • Health check

  • Preinstall check

The Best Practices Analyzer tool for Team Foundation Server checks the configuration of the data-tier server specified in the scan. A warning appears if the SQL Server Integration Services service is not running on the data-tier server.

Note

This rule is checked and only applies when Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server is deployed.

To resolve this issue, start the SQL Server Integration Services service on the data-tier server.

Required Permissions

To perform these procedures, you must be a member of the Administrators security group on the data-tier server for Team Foundation.

To start a SQL Server service that is stopped

  1. Log on to the data-tier server where the service is stopped.

  2. Open the Start menu, point to Administrative Tools, and click Services.

    Services opens.

  3. Right-click SQL Server Integration Services, and click Start.

  4. Close the Services snap-in.
