SqlParameterCollection.Add Method (String, SqlDbType, Int32, String)

Adds a SqlParameter to the SqlParameterCollection with the parameter name, the data type, and the column length.

Namespace:  System.Data.SqlClient
Assembly:  System.Data (in System.Data.dll)
public SqlParameter Add(
	string parameterName,
	SqlDbType sqlDbType,
	int size,
	string sourceColumn
)

Parameters

parameterName
Type: System.String

The name of the parameter.

sqlDbType
Type: System.Data.SqlDbType

One of the SqlDbType values.

size
Type: System.Int32

The column length.

sourceColumn
Type: System.String

The name of the source column (SourceColumn) if this SqlParameter is used in a call to Update.

Return Value

Type: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlParameter
A new SqlParameter object.

  SqlParameter p1 = cmd.Parameters.Add("@Description", SqlDbType.NVarChar, 16, "Description");
}
