How to: Export Payments to a Bank File

When you are ready to post payments to your vendors using the Payment Journal window, you can export a file with the payment information on the journal lines. You can then upload the file to your electronic bank to process the related money transfers.

Note

The generic version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV only supports SEPA Credit Transfer. Several other forms of electronic payment are supported in local versions. To enable export of a specific bank file, see How to: Enable Import/Export of Bank or Payroll Files Using the Data Exchange Framework.

The bank payment file will be exported in the format that you select in the Payment Export Format field in the Bank Account Card window.

Note

Before you can export from a payment journal, you must allow export on the related journal batch. For more information, see the Allow Payment Export field in the General Journal Batches window.

To export payment bank files

  1. In the Search box, enter Payment Journals, and then choose the related link.

  2. Fill payment journal lines, for example, by using the Suggest Vendor Payments function. For more information, see How to: Fill In and Post General Journals.

  3. When you have completed all payment journal lines, on the Home tab, in the Bank group, choose Export Payments to File.

Any errors will be shown in the Payment File Errors FactBox. You must resolve all errors before the payment file can be exported.

  4. In the Save As window, specify the location that the file is exported to, and then choose Save.

The bank payment file is exported to the location that you specify.
