Validator.ValidateObject Method (Object, ValidationContext)

Determines whether the specified object is valid using the validation context.

Assembly:  System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations (in System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations.dll)
public static void ValidateObject(
	Object instance,
	ValidationContext validationContext
)

Parameters

instance
Type: System.Object
The object to validate.
validationContext
Type: System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations.ValidationContext
The context that describes the object to validate.
Exception Condition
ValidationException

The object is not valid.

ArgumentNullException

instance is null.

This method evaluates each ValidationAttribute instance that is attached to the object type.

ValidateObject throws ArgumentNullException if ValidationContext is null

Altough the documentation does not specify it ValidateObject throws ArgumentNullException if ValidationContext is null.

This is bad for custom validations where often ValidationContext is null.
