Troubleshooting Action Recordings and Coded UI Tests

If you encounter issues with an action recording or a coded UI test, you can read the following section to help you understand the issues and, if solutions are available, to resolve the issues.

For more troubleshooting information about playback failures, see the Visual Studio Test Blog, where you will find the latest details.

An Input Method Editor (IME) is a program that enables computer users to enter complex characters and symbols, such as Japanese characters, by using a standard keyboard. Input to an IME is not supported when you play back an action recording or running a coded UI test, because an action recording cannot aggregate actions into a single action.
