The significant changes in the System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Software Development Kit (SDK) R2 since the original System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Software Development Kit (SDK) are described in this section.
A new topic, Configuration Manager Asset Intelligence, has been created to contain all the information related to asset intelligence.
Software Virtualization Packages
Configuration Manager has introduced a new virtualized applications component. Virtualized applications are distributed through standard software distribution packages. The new reference material is contained in a number of topics in the Configuration Manager Virtualization section. Also, the topics, How to Create a Package and How to Create a Program, have been updated with relevant information.
The SMS_TaskSequence_RunCommandLineAction Server WMI Class topic has been updated to describe how executing actions under specific user credentials is allowed. Information about importing task sequences has been provided in the topics, ImportSequence Method in Class SMS_TaskSequencePackage and LoadFromXml Method in Class SMS_TaskSequence.
Unknown Computer Support
Computers that have not previously been discovered or managed by Configuration Manager 2007 can be provisioned with a new operating system and the Configuration Manager 2007 client by using the Unknown Computer Support feature with Operating System Deployment. Out of Band Management
Out of band management is described in the Configuration Manager Out of Band Management topic. Out of band management provides a direct interface for administrators to communicate with a computer’s hardware, which allows Configuration Manager 2007 to manage and provision computers that have the Intel Active Management Technology (Intel AMT) vPro chipset.
