MPEG-2 and H.264 DXVA 2.0 Test (WLP GRAPHICS-0025)
Type: Automated Test
Overview
This purpose of this test is to enforce the requirements on DirectX VA 2.0 video decoders, as described in WLP GRAPHICS-0025. The scope of the test is limited to MPEG-2 and H.264 decoding options in the current WLK version. A display driver exposing any of the DXVA 2.0 functionalities specified in GRAPHICS-0025 is required to pass all test cases.
Details
The test covers both the data encryption/decryption process and the video playback process. The test cases include both conforming video files and fuzz data.
For video playback, the first mode available from the following list for H.264 and MPEG-2, respectively, will be automatically selected by the test tool:
- DXVA 2.0 Profile D (aka VLD Profile)
- DXVA 2.0 Profile C (aka iDCT Profile)
- DXVA 2.0 Profile B (aka MoComp Profile)
Data protection is required for the functionality validation and the robustness validation. The first mode available from the following list will be automatically selected by the test tool:
- Standard AES
- Proprietary AES
- Private Encryption
- No data encryption
For video quality validation, the “No data encryption” mode will be used.
There are 47 tests cases, each corresponding to one test video input. A log file will be generated for each test case.
The requirement to pass the functionality and robustness validations is kept at the minimum in this WLK version - basically no crash, hang, TDR for all test cases and no error message for conforming bitstreams.
The requirement to pass the quality validation is to pass a PSNR threshold against the software decoding results. The test is considered a PASS if less than 10% of the frames in a clip have PSNR lower than 40 dB in case of MPEG-2 ,and 50 dB in case of H.264
Run Time: < 2 hours
Log File: A log file is generated for each of the 45 test cases.
