Editable Property

Sets a value that indicates whether a field, form, or control can be edited.

  • Check boxes

  • Fields

  • Forms

  • Frames

  • Matrix boxes

  • Menu items

  • Option buttons

  • Pages

  • Subforms

  • Tab controls

  • Table boxes

  • Text boxes

Yes if the field, form, or control can be edited; otherwise, No. The default value is Yes.

For fields, use this property to make a field for display only.

For controls, if the Editable setting for the container that contains this control is set to No, that setting overrides what you enter here.

If a form has Editable set to a value of No, then the controls on the form are not editable, even if the (individual) Editable properties are set to Yes.

This property can be set dynamically by using the UPDATEEDITABLE Function (Control, Form) in the OnBeforeInput Trigger of the control.
