Remarks

For classes that are marked TRUE for Singleton in the previous table:

  • If the Management Scope is "Global", only one instance of the class is permitted per forest. If the Management Scope is "Pool", only one instance of the class is permitted per pool.

For classes that are marked "*" for Singleton, multiple instances are permitted.

For classes belonging to the Management Scope category labeled "Pool or Machine" in the previous table, refer to the following table to determine whether the scope of the WMI class is Pool or Machine.

The scope of the class is "Pool" and its settings are stored in SQL when the class is installed on a computer whose server role has a WMI Class Scope of Pool. The scope of the class is "Machine" and its settings are stored in WMI when the class is installed on a computer whose server role has a WMI Class Scope of Machine.

The following table shows the roles that correspond to the abbreviations in the Installed on columns of the previous table. The following table also shows the WMI class scope for classes that can be either "Pool" or "Machine" depending on the role of the server on which they are installed.
