OracleCommandBuilder::GetInsertCommand Method

Gets the automatically generated OracleCommand object required to perform insertions on the database.

Namespace:  System.Data.OracleClient
Assembly:  System.Data.OracleClient (in System.Data.OracleClient.dll)

public:
OracleCommand^ GetInsertCommand()

Return Value

Type: System.Data.OracleClient::OracleCommand
The automatically generated OracleCommand object required to perform insertions.

You can use the GetInsertCommand method for informational or troubleshooting purposes because it returns the OracleCommand object to be executed.

You can also use GetInsertCommand as the basis of a modified command. For example, you might call GetInsertCommand and modify the CommandText value, and then explicitly set that on the OracleDataAdapter.

The SQL statements are first generated when the application calls either Update or GetInsertCommand.

For more information, see Generating Commands with CommandBuilders (ADO.NET).
