Verifying the Web Form Conversion

Dynamics AX 2009

After the Web forms have been converted, you will want to verify the results of the conversion.

  • To view a new User Control in Enterprise Portal, add a Dynamics User Control Web part to an Enterprise Portal page as described in How to: Add Web Parts. Select the new User Control as the managed content item to display.

  • To view a User Control in Visual Studio, create a new project as described in How to: Create a Web Project. You can add the new User Control to the project by following the procedure Modifying a User Control in How to: Modify User Controls.

The Web Form Converter provides a starting point for converting Web forms to User Controls for Enterprise Portal. You may have to use Visual Studio to modify the User Controls that were created by the conversion to achieve the results that you want.

Be aware that when more complex Web forms are converted to User Controls, the User Controls could produce runtime errors when they are displayed in Enterprise Portal. You will have to examine these User Controls with Visual Studio and address the errors.
