Sets or retrieves the read-only state of this element.

Syntax

Possible Values

vString that specifies or receives the read-only state.
true
The value of the element cannot be changed.
false
Default. The value of the element can be modified.

The property is read/write. The property has a default value of false.

Remarks

Note  For cross-browser compatibility, always use the WAI-ARIA attribute syntax to access and modify ARIA properties, for example object.setAttribute("aria-valuenow", newValue).
