Add a temporary bookmark to code

You can use the Code View toolbar or the Code View submenu on the Edit menu to temporarily bookmark particular locations in the code of a web page so that you can quickly return to those locations when you want to. Unlike HTML anchors (bookmarks) that a hyperlink can point to, code bookmarks only work in the Code view of a page while your web page is open in Microsoft Expression Web. When you close a web page, Expression Web deletes all code bookmarks from that page.

To help you identify code bookmarks, a colored rectangle with rounded edges appears to the left of each line of code that contains a code bookmark. You can change the color of that icon by using the Color Coding settings in the Page Editor Options dialog box. To see code bookmark icons in Code view, the Line numbers option must be selected on the General tab in the Page Editor Options dialog box. You can still add, remove, and navigate code bookmarks when the Line numbers option is cleared and the code bookmark icons are hidden.
