Move an object to a different layer or parent
When fine-tuning the layout of the objects in your document, you might want to move an object (such as a Button) from one layout panel (such as a Grid) to another. For example, you might do this if you want the object to be aligned with the other objects of the destination panel.

The following procedure assumes that you have at least two layout panels that contain child objects within a document. |
To move an object from one panel to another
-
On the Toolbar, click Direct Selection
, and then click the object on the artboard that you want to move in your Microsoft Expression Blend document. -
Drag the object over another layout panel that can accept a child object. You should see a dashed bounding box and a text prompt if the panel can accept a child object.
-
Press the ALT key, release the mouse button, and then release the ALT key to drop the object into the new parent container.
A dashed border around a layout panel indicates that the panel can accept the object that you are moving

You can also move objects between layout panels by dragging them under Objects and Timeline. |
