Customize menus

Expression Studio 2.0

You can modify menus and menu commands by using the pointer, or you can use the Rearrange Commands dialog box, which is accessible using a keyboard menu.

If the menu you want to change is on a toolbar, make sure the toolbar is visible.

To rename a menu

  1. Do one of the following:

    • On the Tools menu, click Customize.

    • Right-click anywhere on any toolbar, and then click Customize.

  2. In the Customize dialog box, on the Commands tab, in the Categories box, select the menu you want to rename, and then click Modify Selection.

  3. In the Modify Selection dialog box, type the new name in the Name box, and then press ENTER.

    If the toolbar button doesn't display text, you won't see the name change except when you view the ScreenTip by resting your pointer on the button.

To animate menus

  1. Do one of the following:

    • On the Tools menu, click Customize.

    • Right-click anywhere on any toolbar, and then click Customize.

  2. In the Customize dialog box, on the Options tab, in the Menu animations list, select the animation you want to use.

To add, move, or copy a menu command

  1. Do one of the following:

    • On the Tools menu, click Customize.

    • Right-click anywhere on any toolbar, and then click Customize.

  2. In the Customize dialog box, on the Commands tab, in the Categories box, select the menu to contain the command.

  3. Do one of the following:

    • To move the command, drag it to rest over the menu you want to change. When the menu displays a list of commands, point to where you want the command to appear, and then release the mouse.

    • To copy the command, hold down CTRL and drag the command to rest over the menu you want to change. When the menu displays a list of commands, point to where you want the command to appear, and then release the mouse.

    • To add a command, drag the command you want from the Commands box and, without releasing the mouse, rest it over the menu you want to change. When the menu displays a list of commands, point to where you want the command to appear, and then release the mouse.

To rename a menu command

  1. Do one of the following:

    • On the Tools menu, click Customize.

    • Right-click anywhere on any toolbar, and then click Customize.

  2. In the Customize dialog box, on the Commands tab, in the Categories box, select the menu that contains the command you want to rename.

  3. In the Commands box, select the command you want to rename, and then click Modify Selection.

  4. In the Modify Selection dialog box, type a name in the Name box, and then press ENTER.

To show or hide actual fonts in the font list menu

  1. Do one of the following:

    • On the Tools menu, click Customize.

    • Right-click anywhere on any toolbar, and then click Customize.

  2. In the Customize dialog box, on the Options tab, select or clear the List font names in their font check box.
