Display text on a path
You can position text along any path or shape in a Microsoft Expression Design document, whether it's a B-spline curve, an ellipse, or even other text that has been converted to a path.
Positioning text on a path
To position text on a path
Do one of the following:
Click the path When you select the Text tool and position the pointer on top of a path, the pointer icon changes to indicate that text will flow on the path

. If you click on top of the path, the pointer appears on the path at the position you clicked. You can start to type to add text along that path.Attach text to path If you have already created some text with the Text tool, you can "attach" it to any path so that the text flows along the path. Use the Select

tool to select both the text and the path, and then, on the Object menu, point to Text on Path, and then click Attach Text. Microsoft Expression Design positions the text so that it starts at the starting point of the path.
When you position text on a path, Expression Design ignores all the line breaks, and every character appears in sequence along the path (even if the text extends past the end of the path).
Moving text along the path
When you have positioned text on a path, you can move it to another location on the path.
To move text along a path
In the Toolbox, select a selection tool (other than the Text tool).
Select the vertical line that appears before the first character and drag it to move the text to where you want it to be. You can also drag this line to the other side of the path to flip the text over.

Taking text off the path
You can also release text from a path so that it becomes an independent text object again.
To release text from a path
Do one of the following:
Select the text and, on the Object menu, point to Text on Path and then click Release Text.
Select the text and, on the Edit menu, click Cut or press the DELETE or BACKSPACE key.
Select the path and, on the Edit menu, click Cut, or press the DELETE or BACKSPACE key.
When you cut or delete text, the path remains.
