Print documents

When you print a document, Microsoft Expression Design rasterizes it, which means that it turns vector paths and shapes into bitmapped images.

To set Print preferences

On the File menu, click Print (or press CTRL+P).
Modify any relevant printer properties, such as changing the orientation from portrait to landscape if your artwork is wider than it is in height.
When you click OK, in the Print rasterization settings dialog box, you can change the following settings:
- dpi Type or select the resolution (in dots per inch, or dpi) at which you want to print your document. The greater the value, the better quality you will get (though you never need a resolution greater than the output resolution of your device). However, lower resolutions print faster.
- Center Page If you select this option, your image will be centered on the printed page. Otherwise, the upper-left corner of the image is positioned in the upper-left corner of the page.
The preview icon in the Print rasterization settings dialog box provides an approximation of how your image will appear on the printed page.

After you click OK, Expression Design starts to rasterize and print the document. Complex files may take a while to rasterize, so a progress bar appears in the lower-right corner of the application window to show the estimated time until rasterization is completed.
