Lock or unlock an object

The column under Lock all/Unlock all Cc294541.648ae919-c41a-4127-8d56-f70f81e4299c(en-us,Expression.40).png indicates whether an object on the artboard is locked. When the lock button is visible in the row that corresponds to an object, then the object and all of its child objects are locked.

Note

You cannot modify an object when it is locked.

To lock an object on the artboard

  • Under Objects and Timeline, click the dot button Cc294541.2d176445-bfa3-4d52-8b58-7c1d32cf90e3(en-us,Expression.40).png in the same row as the object.

    The dot button turns into a lock to indicate that the object is locked.

To unlock an object on the artboard

  • Under Objects and Timeline, click the lock button Cc294541.648ae919-c41a-4127-8d56-f70f81e4299c(en-us,Expression.40).png in the same row as the object.

    The lock button turns into a dot to indicate that the object is no longer locked.

To lock or unlock all objects on the artboard

  • Under Objects and Timeline, click Lock all/Unlock all Cc294541.648ae919-c41a-4127-8d56-f70f81e4299c(en-us,Expression.40).png above the object tree.

    A lock appears beside all of the locked objects in the object tree.
