3 Protocol Details

RPC extensions preserve the DCE 1.1: RPC Specification [C706] model of operation between an initiator (or client) and a responder (or server). RPC has two protocol variants: connection-oriented and connectionless. The following sections first specify protocol details that are common between connectionless RPC and connection-oriented RPC protocol variants and then specify details particular to each.
