How to: Launch Event Viewer
Event Viewer is a Microsoft Windows 2000 application that allows you to monitor and administer event logs and their entries. You can launch the Event Viewer application from Server Explorer if you want to access the information it contains directly rather than through your Visual Studio code. The following illustration shows the Event Viewer window.
To launch Event Viewer

Access Server Explorer and locate the Event Logs node. For more information, see How to: Access and Initialize Server Explorer/Database Explorer.

Expand the Servers node.

Right-click the Event Logs node and select Launch Event Viewer.
