Table, Insert Rows or Columns Dialog Box

The Insert Rows or Columns dialog box enables you to change the layout of a table by adding rows or columns before or after a specified table location.

To insert rows or columns into a table

In Design view, put the cursor inside the table where you want to insert the row or column.
In the Table menu, click Insert and then click Rows or Columns.

The Insert Rows or Columns dialog box is displayed.
Select the options that you want, and then click OK.

The rows or columns are inserted into the table.

Rows: If selected, you can specify the number of rows to insert.
Columns: If selected, you can specify the number of columns to insert.

Location

Above selection: (Rows only) If selected, the rows will be inserted above the selected row.
Below selection: (Rows only) If selected, the rows will be inserted below the selected row.
Left of selection: (Columns only) If selected, the columns will be inserted to the left of the selected column.
Right of selection: (Columns only) If selected, the columns will be inserted to the right of the selected column.
