[This is preliminary documentation and is subject to change. Blank topics are included as placeholders.]

Documentation updated on May 23, 2008

Microsoft Unified Communications Client SDK includes:

  • A set of COM libraries such as UccAPI.dll and Rtfplftm.dll.
  • An associated primary interoperable assembly (PIA) (Microsoft.Office.Interop.UccAPI.dll).
  • C++ header files and resource files.
  • Sample application projects.
  • Microsoft Unified Communications Client API documentation.

Microsoft Unified Communications Client SDK is packaged in UccApiSdk.msi and, by default, is installed locally in the c:\program files\Microsoft UccAPI directory.

This SDK documentation is intended for application developers who are interested in building Unified Communications Client applications that interoperate with Microsoft Office Communicator and its compatible clients, extend or embed the Office Communicator functionality into line of business (LOB) applications, and create custom-brand communication clients capable of supporting voice and video calls, instant messaging (IM), and presence services.
