Edit the default permissions for a business role

The default permissions for a business role apply to all member sets in the model site. Specific Read or Write permissions for a member or member set can exempt them from the defaults. You must belong to the Data Administrator or Modeler role to modify default permissions for the role.

Before you modify member set permissions, you should know the following information.

  • Changes to this setting will not affect the explicit permissions for the role. However, if a user has customized permissions that exceed those of the role, the user permissions will be restricted accordingly.

  • Users who belong to multiple roles may have permissions that exceed those of a particular role. Moreover, Read and Write access are calculated differently. For more information about permissions for users in multiple roles, see Permissions for users assigned to multiple roles.
