What's New in Windows Server 2003 SP1

Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1 (SP1) includes the following new and updated programming elements.

DFS Server Target Prioritization: Enables DFS servers to take advantage of available Active Directory site-cost information to prioritize the targets in client referrals for more effective DFS server failover strategies.

NetDfsGetFtContainerSecurity: Retrieves the security descriptor for the container object of the specified DFS domain root.
NetDfsGetSecurity: Retrieves the security descriptor for the root object of the specified DFS root.
NetDfsGetStdContainerSecurity: Retrieves the security descriptor for the container object of the specified DFS stand-alone root.
NetDfsMove: Moves a DFS link from an old path to a new one.
NetDfsSetFtContainerSecurity: Locates the container object for the specified DFS domain root and sets the supplied security descriptor on it.
NetDfsSetSecurity: Locates the root object for the specified DFS root and sets the supplied security descriptor on it.
NetDfsSetStdContainerSecurity: Locates the container object for the specified DFS stand-alone root and sets the supplied security descriptor on it.

DFS_INFO_5: Contains detailed information about a DFS root or a link in a named DFS root.
DFS_INFO_6: Contains detailed information about a DFS root or a link in a named DFS root, including a list of DFS namespace targets.
DFS_INFO_7: Contains information on the metadata generation of a DFS namespace.
DFS_INFO_103: Contains properties that set specific behaviors for a DFS root or link.
DFS_INFO_104: Contains the priority of a DFS root or link target.
DFS_INFO_105: Contains information on a DFS root or link, such as volume state and the specific behaviors set for the particular root or link.
DFS_INFO_106: Contains the storage state and priority of a DFS target.
DFS_STORAGE_INFO_1: Contains data about a DFS target, including the server and share hosting the target as well as the target's state and priority.
DFS_TARGET_PRIORITY: Contains the priority class and rank of a specific DFS target.

SHARE_INFO_1005: Adds the SHI1005_FLAGS_ACCESS_BASED_DIRECTORY_ENUM flag to support filtering of the directory entries by the server based on the access permissions of the client.
