Troubleshooting Tools (Integration Services)

Integration Services does not include any stand-alone troubleshooting tools. However, Integration Services provides many valuable features that you can use to troubleshoot packages at both design time and run time.

At design time, use the following troubleshooting features in Integration Services:

  • Package validation

  • Breakpoints and package debugging

  • Progress window

  • Data viewers in the data flow

For more information about these features, see Troubleshooting Package Development.

At run time, use the following troubleshooting features in Integration Services:

  • Package event handlers

  • Package logging, including logging of external provider messages and errors

  • Error outputs

For more information about these features, see Troubleshooting Package Execution and Working with Debug Dump Files.

For more information about SQL Server troubleshooting tools, that includes SQL Server Profiler, see Troubleshooting (Database Engine).
