How to: Export Custom Prototypes from Distributed System Designers

You can share custom prototypes used in Application Designer or Logical Datacenter Designer by exporting them.

Note

To export prototypes to a restricted location, you will need administrator permissions.

To export a custom prototype

  1. In the Toolbox, right-click the prototype and click Export Prototype.

The Export Prototype to File dialog box appears.

  2. In the Export Prototype to File dialog box, browse to the location where you want to save the prototype.

  3. In the File name box, rename the prototype file, if needed, and click Save.

Visual Studio saves the prototype file to the location you specified.
