Known Issues and Work Arounds

When you search Codezone Community Help sources, an error message is displayed.

If you use proxy server authentication to access the Internet, the first time that you try to search Codezone Community Help sources, you may receive the following error message: Culture is Required Field.

To work around this issue

  • Press Search again to re-search on the string.

Visual Studio Project templates are missing when you upgrade Windows XP to the Windows Vista operating system.

If you install Visual Studio 2005 on a computer that has Windows XP and then upgrade that computer to the Windows Vista operating system, the Visual Basic, Visual C++, and Visual J# project templates no longer appear in the New Project dialog box.

To work around this issue

  1. At the command prompt, locate \Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE.

  2. Type the following command:

    Devenv.exe /installvstemplates

  3. Click Continue in the user permissions dialog box.

Add Reference dialog box does not show a Help button on the title bar.

When you open the Add Reference dialog box, a Help button does not appear. You can still access Help for the dialog box, even though the button is missing.

To work around this issue

  • To access Help, press F1.
