ImportantImportant
This topic is not maintained. For the current version, see sp_settriggerorder.

Specifies the AFTER triggers that are fired first or last. The AFTER triggers that are fired between the first and last triggers are executed in an undefined order.

Syntax Conventions (Azure SQL Database)

sp_settriggerorder [ @triggername= ] '[ triggerschema. ] triggername'
    , [ @order= ] 'value'
    , [ @stmttype= ] 'statement_type'
    [ , [ @namespace = ] { 'DATABASE' | NULL } ]

This syntax diagram demonstrates the supported arguments in Microsoft Microsoft Azure SQL Database.

Microsoft Azure SQL Database does not support the @namespace = SERVER option with the sp_settriggerorder system stored procedure.

For more information about the arguments and the sp_settriggerorder system stored procedure, see sp_settriggerorder in SQL Server Books Online.

To set the order of a DDL trigger requires ALTER ANY DATABASE DDL TRIGGER permission.

To set the order of a DML trigger requires ALTER permission on the table or view on which the trigger is defined.
