During development, the AdControl.ApplicationId and AdControl.AdUnitId properties are set to default values that will show test ads in your app. You must set these properties to release values before publishing your application.

In a released app (not the emulator) you will receive no ads from the Microsoft Advertising server if you do not set the following properties.

Set the application identifier (ApplicationId) to the one provided by Microsoft pubCenter. For information about how to obtain the ApplicationId, see Create a Microsoft pubCenter Account to Receive Ads.

Set the ad unit identifier (AdUnitId) to the one provided by pubCenter for the ad unit. See Create a Microsoft pubCenter Account to Receive Ads for more information about the AdUnitId.
