Will this work on x64?
Will this example work on x64 system?

Does this work on x64?
Rajesh did you get an answer ?

unsafe
Doesn't seem to compile with a couple of those unsafe statements.. trying without them..

Unsafe?
It seems to work if you turn on the /unsafe compilation flag by checking the "allow unsafe code" checkbox in your project's properties in Visual Studio.

The ControlCallback passed to the RegisterTraceGuids function can be reclaimed by the garbage collector. To be more robust, the delegate should be saved in a static variable:

// RegisterTraceGuids can hold the address of the callback and call it at any point in the future.
// Therefore, create the delegate in the static scope to ensure it isn't garbage collected
private static unsafe NativeMethods.EtwProc _controlCallback = new NativeMethods.EtwProc(ControlCallback);
public static unsafe void RegisterTraceProvider()
{
    SPFarm farm = SPFarm.Local;
    Guid traceGuid = farm.TraceSessionGuid;
    uint result = NativeMethods.RegisterTraceGuids(_controlCallback, null, ref traceGuid, 0, IntPtr.Zero, null, null, out hTraceReg);
    System.Diagnostics.Debug.Assert(result == NativeMethods.ERROR_SUCCESS);
}

Logging does not honor Central Admin Event Throttling
Hi,
I tried to use the code for logging in my SP application. but, when I set the Verbosity level in Central Admin, the logging messages still appear and the messages seem disregarding the settings in CA. simply this does not honor the settings in CA. for example I set the event throttling to None in CA, but still Verbose, Info and Error messages are logged. is that a bug or am I missing something?
Thank You,
bhakthil
