Advantages of FBWF
Like EWF, FBWF prevents writes to one or more protected volumes and caches all writes to protected volumes in an overlay cache on a volatile store. But because FBWF operates at the file level rather than the sector level, it provides several features not found in EWF:
- File and Directory Management Transparency
- Selective Write Through
- Selective Commits and Restores
- Improved Overlay Memory Use
