8/28/2008 Windows Embedded CE includes file system encryption implemented as a file system filter that enables you to encrypt data stored on removable storage cards. The implementation encrypts the data on the media itself, and protect datas on mobile devices.
Because the filter is transparent, applications function in the same manner with or without the filter. However, using encryption might cause performance loss because encryption is a time-consuming process.
