This section describes new features in the Shop Floor Control module for Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0.
License key for Shop Floor Control users
This new license key controls the number of active employees in Shop Floor Control.
Absence registration integrated with Human Resources
Absence groups and codes in the Human Resources module are now used for absence registration in Shop Floor Control.
To improve performance, registration forms now display jobs from a dedicated Shop Floor Control job table (JmgJobTable in the AOT) instead of displaying jobs from, for example, the Capacity reservations table (WrkCtrCapRes).
The job table can be updated online or as a batch.
For more information, see Synchronize job table.
Configurable registration form
Shop Floor Control now has only one basic registration form that can be configured to the individual needs of the company. A company can use several different configurations, and configurations can be assigned to specific employees.
For more information, see Configure registration forms.
Features have been added to facilitate the handling of special days such as national holidays. You can use these features to apply absence or special pay to employees on specific dates.
For more information, see About special days.
On call is a new type of indirect activity that can be used to calculate pay for employees who have on-call duties.
For more information, see About indirect activities.
Improved dimension control
Financial dimensions can be handled individually for each type of job, and employee dimensions and job dimensions can also be combined.
Production quantity validation
Quantity feedback on operations can be validated in different ways to prevent wrong quantities from being posted.
Messages can be sent to specific employees or terminals. You can also request a receipt from the employee.
For more information, see Send messages.
Picking list feedback on production jobs
You can view and edit material consumption when providing quantity feedback on operations.
Set up machines in the Shop Floor Control employee table to collect machine time for operations. Machine time is easily processed because clock-in, clock-out, and absence registrations are not required.
The Work planner feature can help team managers plan shift rotation for specific teams.
For more information, see About work planner.
Features have been added to help remove redundant data in the Raw registrations table in Shop Floor Control.
For more information, see Clean up registration table.
Criteria for flexible hours are now set up in the form instead of individually for each employee.
For more information, see About groups.
