When an e-mail is sent from Microsoft Dynamics AX, a copy of the e-mail message is saved if:

• Outlook and Microsoft Dynamics AX are running on the same computer.
  
• The e-mail message was sent from:
  
  • The Contact person form.
    
  • The Business relations form.
    
  • The Documents form opened from the Contact person or the Business relations form.
    
  In each of these cases, a reference to the copy of the e-mail can be attached to a contact person, business relation, or quotation.
  Note   If the e-mail is sent directly from the Documents form, (CRM > Periodic), a copy of the e-mail is not saved because there is no specified contact person, business relation, or quotation.
  
• The e-mail is sent to a contact person or a business relation.
  

Note
When you send an e-mail message to employees, a copy is not created.
