Set up estimate templates
  1. Click Project > Setup > Category > Cost template.
  2. In the Cost template window, select the cost template that you want to set up or edit.
  3. Click Cost lines to open the Estimate template window, and select the cost line that you want to change.
    More about setup of categories on cost estimates:
    When a cost template is created, all existing categories are distributed on three system cost lines for items, hours, and expenses. The names of the cost lines are defined in the Cost template window.
  4. In the Estimate template window, click CTRL+N to create a new line, or select an existing line, and click the Categories tab name.
  5. On the Categories tab, select the category that you want to remove from another cost line, and click the arrow to add it to the current category.

The Percentage of completion option in the Estimate template window is by default selected for each of the three system-created cost lines with the effect that they all are included in the calculation of a percentage of completion. Clear the check box to exclude a cost line from the calculation.
