Upgrading Features

As part of solution deployment, Windows SharePoint Services provides the ability to upgrade features. The following table describes what is or is not supported for feature upgrade.

When you make any supported changes or additions to Feature files (to Feature.xml or element XML files), you must reset Microsoft Internet Information Services (iisreset) to recache the new XML files for changes to take effect in each new Feature activation. For existing Feature activations, the best practice is to reactivate the Feature.
