Copy a BOM from the Bills of materials form

Dynamics AX 4.0

Click > Bills of materials.
On the header of the Bills of materials form, press CTRL+N.
In the Name field, enter the name of the BOM, select an Item group, and then click Approve to confirm the BOM.
On the lines of the Bills of materials form, press CTRL+N.
In the Item number field, select the item that the BOM should be attached to, and enter the remaining information.
Click Lines to create the BOM lines.
In the Lines form, click Functions > Copy.
In the BOM copying form, choose between copying from base data or from production.
- To copy from base data, select the item number that the BOM is attached to, the configuration to be copied from, and the BOM number.
- To copy from production, enter the production number from which to copy.
In the BOM copying form, choose between copying to base data or to production.
- To copy to base data, enter a BOM number to be copied to.
- To copy to production, enter the production number to be copied to.
In the Setup area, you can mark whether the BOM should replace or add data on the BOM item or the production.
