You can send e-mail messages to any contact persons in Microsoft Dynamics AX by selecting the e-mail icon. To save sent copies of your e-mails, you must set up Microsoft Office Outlook integration in the Employee form. For more information about saving copies, see Copies of sent e-mails.
You can send e-mails and save copies of them in Microsoft Dynamics AX from the following forms:
-
Contact person - You can send an e-mail or an SMS message from the Contact Info tab. You can also send an e-mail with an active document attached from the Documents form, which is opened from the Contact person form. The e-mail address will be automatically filled in with the address that is specified in the Contact Info tab.
-
Business relations - You can send an e-mail from the Contact Info tab. You can also send an e-mail with an active document attached from the Documents form, which is opened from the Business relations form. The e-mail address will be automatically filled in with the address that is specified in the Contact Info tab.
-
Sales quotation - You can send an e-mail with an active document attached from the Sales quotation form. The e-mail address is automatically completed with the e-mail address for the contact person who is selected in the General tab.
-
Documents - You can send an e-mail message with the active document attached from the Documents form. Because the Documents form has not been opened from the Contact persons, Business relations, or Sales quotation form, the e-mail recipient's address will not be filled in automatically and a copy of the sent e-mail message will not be saved automatically.
-
E-mail distribution - You can send an e-mail message to the active e-mail group.
You can only send e-mail messages to multiple recipients by using e-mail groups, sending the e-mail message to the registered members of the e-mail groups.
You can only sending email messages to multiple contact persons at one time by using the form.
Use the Copy to Clipboard button to copy the highlighted document to the Windows clipboard. The document can then be pasted into an e-mail message created from Microsoft Outlook.
If the target icon shows, you can drag files from Microsoft Windows or e-mail messages from Microsoft Outlook 2000 or later onto the target icon. The files or e-mail messages are then shown in the Documents form.
