CDF Database MetaData Tables

CRM 1.0

The CDF database metadata tables ensure version compatibility and also specify and track migration status.

MetaData table Purpose of table
cdf_BuildVersion Table The cdf_BuildVersion table is used to ensure that the version of the CDF database is compatible with the version of the CDF Migration Tool and the version of Microsoft CRM.

Important   Do not change any data in the cdf_BuildVersion table. If you change information in this table, migration will not be supported by Microsoft.

cdf_EntityMigrationInfo Table For each entity, this table specifies the information about the entity that is required for the migration process.

Do not change any data in this table directly. Instead, use the stored procedures provided as part of the Microsoft CRM Data Migration Framework to modify the data. This helps protect you from making changes that will cause your migration to fail.

cdf_EntityAttribute Table For each attribute, this table specifies the information about the attribute that is required for the migration process.

Do not change any data in this table directly. Instead, use the stored procedures provided as part of the Microsoft CRM Data Migration Framework to modify the data. This helps protect you from making changes that will cause your migration to fail.

For information about stored procedures used to control the migration process, see Appendix A, "CDF Stored Procedure Reference," in the Microsoft Business Solutions CRM Data Migration Framework Guide.
