Windows XP Media Center Edition SDK Registering DVD Recording Applications with Windows Movie Maker
Registering DVD Recording Applications with Windows Movie Maker
Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 includes Microsoft Windows Movie Maker 2.1, a software program that lets users easily create, edit, and share home movies on a personal computer. By registering their applications with Movie Maker, vendors of DVD recording applications make it possible for users to burn their movies onto recordable DVDs.
This section is intended for independent software vendors who create and distribute stand-alone DVD recording applications that run on Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 and later. It describes how to properly register a DVD recording application so that it appears in the list of applications that Movie Maker offers when the user chooses to burn a movie to a DVD.
This section discusses the following topics.
| Topic | Description |
| Overview | Describes how Movie Maker presents a list of DVD recording applications to the user. |
| Registry Settings | Describes the registry keys and settings that enable Movie Maker to find and load a DVD recording application. |
| Sample Registry File | Shows the contents of a typical registry (.reg) file used to enter registry settings for a DVD recording application. |
