RecordLog class

The RecordLog class represents the BMC system event log (SEL). Each BMC has one associated RecordLog instance.

The following syntax is simplified from Managed Object Format (MOF) code and includes all inherited properties. Properties and methods are in alphabetic order, not MOF order.

Syntax

[Provider("IPMIPrv"), Dynamic]class RecordLog : CIM_RecordLog
{
  string Caption;
  uint64 CurrentNumberOfRecords;
  string Description;
  string ElementName;
  uint16 EnabledState;
  string InstanceId;
  uint64 MaxNumberOfRecords;
};

Members

The RecordLog class has these types of members:

Properties

The RecordLog class has these properties.

Caption
Data type: string
Access type: Read-only
Qualifiers: MaxLen (64) , Dynamic

Fixed value: "IPMI SEL". This property is inherited from CIM_ManagedElement.

CurrentNumberOfRecords
Data type: uint64
Access type: Read-only

Current number of records in the log. This property is inherited from CIM_Log.

Description
Data type: string
Access type: Read-only

Fixed value: "IPMI SEL". This property is inherited from CIM_ManagedElement.

ElementName
Data type: string
Access type: Read-only

Fixed value: "IPMI SEL". This property is inherited from CIM_ManagedElement.

EnabledState
Data type: uint16
Access type: Read-only

The state of the SEL that determines whether the SEL is accepting new entries.

This property is inherited from CIM_EnabledLogicalElement.

The possible values for this property are as follows.

ValueMeaning
2

Enabled.

The SEL is active and accepting new entries.

3

Disabled.

The SEL is full or "frozen", which means that the log is programmatically suspended and is not accepting further entries. Not all IPMI implementations have a frozen state.

InstanceId
Data type: string
Access type: Read/write
Qualifiers: Key, Dynamic

String that identifies the computer system instance with which the RecordLog instance is associated. If there are several BMCs in the same namespace, unique names must be used.

To create the string, concatenate the following items without spaces.

  • "IPMI"
  • ComputerSystem.Name key property of associated BMC.
  • "SEL Log"
For example, if the BMC Name is BMC32, then InstanceId contains "IPMIBMC32SEL Log".

This property is inherited from CIM_RecordLog.

MaxNumberOfRecords
Data type: uint64
Access type: Read-only

Maximum number of records that can be captured in the log. This property is inherited from CIM_Log.
