Another way to get to AppData
Alternatively, you can (in Windows 7 at least) click your start button and in the search box, type %AppData%, it will open to the AppData\Roaming directory, then you can just back up one directory.

Where it points
Yes, this folder is hidden. You can navigate to it with Windows Explorer if you select option Show hidden files, folders, and drives in the Hidden files and folders on the View tab of Folder Options, or if you enter the path into the address bar.
On Windows Vista and Windows 7, it usually points to C:\Users\<user-name>\AppData\Local where AppData is the hidden folder.
On Windows XP, it is usually C:\Documents and Settings\<user-name>\Local Settings\Application Data. Both Local Settings and Application Data are hidden folders.
