Binding Reports to Web Forms Viewers

Visual Studio .NET 2003

Before you can display a report in the Web Forms Viewer, you must bind the report object to the viewer. You can do this by assigning the DataBindings or the ReportSource property of the Web Forms Viewer.

You may bind a report at design time to initialize a Web Forms Viewer. You may also bind a report at runtime to support the display of different reports based on interaction with the user or with another Web Form control. You can also bind a Report Web Service to a Web Forms Viewer.

If a report has been saved with data, the Web Forms Viewer displays the report at design time with the saved data. Otherwise, the Web Forms Viewer displays the report with temporary data only.

After binding the report to a Web Forms Viewer, you can build and run the Web application.
