These are the COM Tutorial samples. These code samples include an integrated tutorial narrative that covers the foundations of COM technology; see the samples\sdk\com\tutsamp\tutorial.txt file.  Among other things, the tutorial.txt file discusses the order in which you should do the tutorial samples.

All source files for these samples use C++.  MFC is not used.  The series is for advanced programmers using their proficiency in C++ Win32 programming to code COM and ActiveX applications.
