But why define a public constant in your code when you can just use Math.PI in the .NET Framework instead? That's precisely why it's there -- to use in your code, and to save you the trouble of having to define the value of Pi.

PI is a static member and should by used with this syntax
[Math]::PI
If you want to use the constant with a more strict typing, the syntax is
[System.Math]::PI
The output is the same from the two examples - a double with the value given in the documentation above.
