KeyedHashAlgorithm.Create Method

Updated: March 2011

Creates an instance of the default implementation of a keyed hash algorithm.

Namespace:  System.Security.Cryptography
Assembly:  mscorlib (in mscorlib.dll)
public static KeyedHashAlgorithm Create()

Return Value

Type: System.Security.Cryptography.KeyedHashAlgorithm
A new HMACSHA1 instance, unless the default settings have been changed.

By default, this overload uses the HMACSHA1 implementation of a keyed hash algorithm. If you want to specify a different implementation, use the Create overload, which lets you specify an algorithm name, instead. The cryptography configuration system defines the default implementation of the KeyedHashAlgorithm class.
